Pelicans Make Run But Kings Prevail
Sacramento, Calif. - The Sacramento Kings (23-17) ended the third quarter on a 12-0 run Friday night to take an 84-72 lead over the New Orleans Pelicans (21-19). The Kings had trailed 72-64, but held the Pelicans scoreless for the final 4:46 of the third period.
The Kings continued their momentum in the fourth quarter, extending their lead to 101-82 with 7:32 remaining. The Pelicans never got closer than 12 points the rest of the way.
De'Aaron Fox led the Kings with 25 points and 8 assists, while Domantas Sabonis added 24 points and 12 rebounds. Trey Murphy III led the Pelicans with 21 points.
The Kings will host the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday night, while the Pelicans will host the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday night.
